Detecting DNA and RNA at Zeptomole Scale Sensitivities

Description:

Title:

Biolayer interferometry measurement of biological targets

Category:

Diagnostic

NCS:

Inventors: Hans Peter Zassenhaus

Summary:

Disclosed are methods and compositions for the ultrasensitive detection of oligonucleotides,
proteins, protein complexes, biomolecules, and infectious agents using a peroxidase driven
deposition of substrates onto interferometry capable biosensors, coupled to the specific
recognition of the target molecules. More specifically, methods are disclosed to specifically
immobilize biological target molecules onto the surface of interferometry capable biosensors
and to associate the target molecules with peroxidase enzymes. Through the peroxidase driven
deposition of substrates onto the interferometry capable biosensors there is the ability to
achieve ultrasensitive detection and quantification of specific target molecules.
